The study of Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Agrochemistry

Agricultural Chemistry is a unique research field arising in Japan and covers a wide range of bioscience, biotechnology, and agrochemistry, being based on the study of living things in general and agricultural organisms in particular.

Agricultural Chemistry started in Japan approximately one hundred forty years ago. The era started with chemical research dealing simply with agriculture.

Since then, research on general living organisms and their bio-products along with specific organisms in agriculture and agricultural products has enabled the unique progress due to the wider range of systematic natural science in Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Agrochemistry.

Nowadays, research covering bioscience/ biotechnology in the food and environmental sciences occupies a central position in modern, sophisticated bioscience and biotechnology in Japan, which is regarded sufficiently throughout the world as a general science.
